Mr Ducktail
Mr Ducktail left France when he was 16 to go to Hamburg, Germany, and become a hairdresser. He moved back to France in 2001 to open his first salon in Toulouse. He closed it a few years later to join his wife, Miss Betty, in her pin-up salon and prepare their big move to London.
In 2008, they open “It's Something Hell's” in Kingly Court (Carnaby St.): pin-up looks for women, switchblade haircuts and pompadours for the greasers... Twelve months after it opened, TIME OUT Magazine named it the best retro salon in London.
A big fan of Hairgum waxes, William – aka Mr Ducktail – got in touch with ARILAND to launch his very own wax. For the lab, this was the perfect opportunity to launch a real partnership between the brand and a talented hairdresser who loves Hairgum waxes. And that's how Hairgum's Mr Ducktail range was born.
A hairdresser with flawless technique, a quality styling wax, a 50s-style salon, delightful pin-up assistants... That's how the “Demon of Carnaby Street” got his reputation!
