Perfect for brows, terrible for Brazilians

The wax dries quite slowly, which makes it perfect for eyebrow/facial waxing, as it gives you plenty of time to reapply or work over areas if needed.

For Brazilian waxing, it hasn’t worked well for me. Don’t get me wrong, it grips the hairs extremely well. But if you’re a speed waxer, I wouldn’t recommend it. The longer drying time means you’re constantly checking whether the wax is ready to remove, and if it’s pulled too early, it can cause unnecessary discomfort for the client.

I also found it to be quite aggressive on sensitive skin during Brazilian waxing. Personally, I’d rate it 1 star for Brazilians, but 5 stars for facial areas because it removes even the finest hairs so well. Overall, that’s why rate it 4 stars.

Extremely Flexible and amazing grip!

I've used the pink Rosette hard wax from Lycon for years. I fancied a change of pace and purchased the Pinkini wax after intensely comparing the Lycon range. I normally only wax intimate areas, so naturally the Pinkini wax seemed to be most promising as it's specifically for the Bikini area and such. I wax excited to try it and compare against the Rosette to see if I had found a new firm favourite. I didn't expect a miracle as I loved using the Rosette wax and never had any issues with it.
The Pinkini is a beautiful hot pink colour whereas the Rosette is a rich, creamy rose pink. I will say though, I wasn't impressed with the smell of the Pinkini wax! When I crack open a fresh case of Rosette was, it smells... soothing. It's not flowery or chemical smelling, it smells like it's good stuff and you're in for a treat. Light, rosey and soothing chamomile. Delicious. The Pinkini wax is overpowering. It is a bash to your nostrils. I can't describe it as floral, but definitely a sickly sweet with the chamomile and carendula undertone. My partner even commented on the scent after opening my first case of Pinkini. I was slightly put off as I loathe heavy scents but I tipped it in the warmer and hoped it performed as well at the Rosette. The smell did improve (somewhat!) after bringing the wax up to temperature. It certainly mellowed out to a more palatable sweet aroma and I finally recognized the familiar soothing smell that I associate with Lycon.
When melted, Pinkini is extremely pliable and easy to use. It was a rich bright colour and not too dissimilar to Rosette. Although Rosette has a slightly more ... globular (!?) texture, Pinkini was smooth and creamy. Pinkini can be used and was much more workable at a much lower temperature than Rosette.
In terms of application, there's not too much of a difference. HOWEVER, I found Pinkini had a superior grip to Rosette. When applied, Pinkini retained it's sturdy structure and pulled easily without as much crumbling or cracking as Rosette. It felt much more malleable and flexible than Rosette felt. Even using a miniscule amount of was on application, Pinkini still remained robust and had incredible grip. I was surprised at how much more hair came away with the Pinkini wax; there were less fair and short hairs left behind, especially when I followed up with the Lavender Hot Wax! There were less broken hairs too, it just seamed to grab and hold onto anything you applied it to! The strength of the wax was balanced by the soothing effects of the wax too. It wasn't painful and did not pull on the skin. It left the areas hydrated and my skin wasn't as irritated as it normally would be using the Rosette. Even though my first impressions were not great, I must say I was persuaded by the Pinkini range. The difference in the strength and pliability is undeniable. I also loved being able to work at a lower temperature and had less irritated skin than normal. The added bonus was I was left with less stray hairs and used a lot less Lavender wax to follow up my waxing. Worth the extra few bob, even though it doesn't smell nearly as good as the Rosette wax!
